FilmAid International Announces Outdoor Screening Program in Kenya

FilmAid is partnering with Population Services International – Kenya (PSI-K), to produce and disseminate through public screenings, an 80 minute film Sita Kimya which tackles issues of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in one of Africa’s largest informal settlements, Kibera, in a project which begun in June 2010 and is expected to come to an end in February 2011.

10/07/10
Saturday saw us ready to go for our 2nd screening at JP/HRO Camp. Four of our crew turned up for call at 4pm – which was great but then There’s some cloud cover and darkness is falling so the crew work really hard to get everything done fast. The kids are already arriving and staking their places to get a good view.

This summer it has once again my pleasure to team with CommCinema (“Community,” not Commie!) to show free outdoor movies throughout San Diego County. When you consider that in this dire economy it costs a family of four something like 40 bucks to go to a movie, this is a terrific night out with the kids.
